Some women don't want to "share" their pregnancies with other women. They don't like having their "parade rained on" or having someone else "steal their thunder", or let someone else" hog their spotlight". I, on the other hand LOVE being pregnant with other women! ESPECIALLY close friends and family!!
I have had to amazing opportunity to "share" this pregnancy with my cousin-in-law, Caroline and my sister-in-law, Melissa. The 3 of us are all due within 6-4weeks of each other. They live about 5 hours apart, so although we aren't able to SEE each other very often, through the power and blessing of email, text messaging, Facebook and the good ol fashioned telephone, we have been able to communicate A LOT. It's been so fun comparing stories, baby names and belly pics!!
As if going through this with these amazing gals isn't awesome enough.....My sister-in-law, Katie has also recently announced that she and my brother, Drew are expecting!!! This makes my heart SO happy!! I know that Katie and Drew are going to be phenomenal parents! Katie and I have always been like sisters, so getting to "share" this special time with her is SO exciting!!
Pretty soon, all of our pregnancies will be over. The maternity clothes will be put away and the belly pics will just a thing of the past; something to pull out on holidays to laugh and crack jokes about.
Before we know it, our homes will be taken over by baby gear, empty bottles and mountains of laundry.
We'll no longer be brainstorming baby names, but helping each other brainstorm different ideas and methods to get our new bundles of joy to sleep longer than 2hrs at night or sharing wives-tales of how to cure gas pains instead.
The holidays will become a little more crazy and a lot more loud!
Birthdays will be lumped together and thrown in joint celebration fashion!
And in a few years, we'll all get to experience the "terrible 2s" together!
And never have to go through teenage drama queens or kings alone!!!
Oh, the joys, the tears, the heartache we are going to share!!!
